Vaux de Vicomte Back Entrance - The 10mm experience on Flickr.

I brought my tripod to Vaux le Vicomte but once again, dreaded signs of “No tripods allowed” (you can see it actually right there next to the entrance) were glaring at me, lucky me it was just a restriction for inside shootings. Here in this shot, I still did it handheld (3 exposures) with my 10-22mm Canon EF-S lens. After this one, I took out the tripod and mounted my camera and carried it around on my shoulder, earning many curious looks and even some enquiries as to why I would use a tripod.
