St Andrews (Scottish Gaelic: Cill Rìmhinn) is a university town and former royal burgh on the east coast of the council area of Fife, in Scotland. (Scotland has 32 council areas rather than counties) The town is home to the University of St. Andrews, the third oldest university in the English-speaking world and one of the UK’s most prestigious. (Prince William is one of their many famous graduates)

Dating back to the 11th century, Chateau Amboise was taken by the French King Charles VII in the mid-15th century and became a royal palace. François I based his court here and he invited Leonardo da Vinci to move to Amboise.
